The two courses, the Skins North Course and the Skins South Course, play through a variety of unique landforms, steep slopes, three refreshing lakes, different soil types, rolling sand dunes and natural desert flora. The Skins North Course plays 7,123 yards from the tournament tees and 5,015 yards from the forward tees while the Skins South course ranges from 7,229 yards at the tournament tees to 5,094 yards from the forward tees. The Skins North Course rating is 74.3 with a slope of 135. The Skins South Course rating is 75.1 with a slope of 136.

The Skins courses are studies in contrast in textures and colors as they roll perfectly maintained emerald green tees, fairways and greens through colorful native desert vegetation. Landmark’s signature bridges are crafted from vintage railroad cars, an interesting side bar to the day’s round. Adding to the natural beauty of the golf courses and surrounding mountains are magnificent sunrises and sunsets as the entire Coachella Valley provides a backdrop.

Landmark Golf Club has been the home of the Skins Game since 1999. The annual made for television event takes place on Thanksgiving weekend and consists each year of four of golf’s strongest competitors. The tournament takes advantage of both courses by playing on nine holes of the Skins North Course and nine holes of the Skins South over two days. The golfers battle for the $1,000,000 purse with the first six holes being worth $25,000 each, the second six holes are worth $50,000 each, holes 13 through 17 are worth $70,000 each and the 18th is worth $200,000. The foursome plays for $300,000 on Saturday and $700,000 on Sunday. Each of the four players in the tournament must agree to donate 20% of their winnings, $200,000 from the $1,000,000 purse, to their favorite charities. The tournaments $1,000,000 purse makes it one of the richest two-day events in the game of golf.
