“Top Ten You Can Play.” -Golf Magazine

Tucked within a valley floor in the Santa Ynez Mountains, Rancho San Marcos Golf Course offers a unique opportunity to play a round through terrain featuring centuries old California oak trees and the workings of the historic Rancho San Marcos. The 6,800 yard par-71 course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. to preserve the natural beauty of the land. Magnificent vistas await at every turn over 300 spectacular acres that create an interesting challenge to golfers of all abilities while not intruding on the environment and natural habitat for a variety of wildlife. With no trace of urban development, Rancho San Marcos is the ideal location to forget your worldly cares and enjoy the peaceful solitude of a bygone era.

Rancho San Marcos features several unique amenities including sandstone wood burning fireplaces placed around the course for chilly mornings, baskets of fresh fruit await at several tees and there is even an original 1860 stagecoach trail used for the cart path along the 17th fairway. In May of 2000 Golf Digest listed Rancho San Marcos among the Top 201 Places to Play in North America for outstanding achievement in customer service and course conditioning.

Rancho San Marcos has all the amenities normally associated with only the finest private clubs including a practice facility with all grass tees, chipping and putting areas, and unlimited range balls stacked in pyramids. If you decide to walk professionally trained caddies will carry your clubs, note yardages and assist you with the nuances of the course.

Expert instruction with advanced video training is available and golf clinics and schools may be arranged for groups that range from half-day sessions to three-day golf schools custom tailored for all players’ abilities and facets of the game. Classes are designed with low student-to-instructor ratios to insure quality attention and instruction needed to help shape and improve your skills. The well appointed golf shop offers the latest in equipment, apparel and accessories from the leading names in golf.

Davy Stable Cafe serves breakfast and lunch from a delicious menu using only the freshest ingredients prepared to order. Golfers can dine in a wonderfully intimate atmosphere, sit on the patio overlooking the lake and golf course, or take out. Rancho San Marcos also features an on-course refreshment service with a variety of beverages, delectables and cold towels.

Rancho San Marcos is just 15 minutes west of Santa Barbara’s beaches and 15 minutes east of the wine country community of Santa Ynez and the Danish themed village of Solvang.
