Ko‘olau Golf Club, located on the beautiful windward side of the island of Oahu, is considered the most challenging golf course in the world. Carved from a magnificent tropical forest on the side of the 2,000 foot high Ko‘olau mountain range, the course encompasses three distinct climate zones and features dramatic vistas of the rain forest and the Pacific Ocean. The club’s facilities include an 18 hole championship golf course, a spacious 125,000 square foot clubhouse and a 5-acre grass practice facility. Adding to the breathtaking views and great golf experience golfers share the property with a variety of indigenous and imported wildlife including feral pigs, Jackson’s chameleons and an impressive variety of birds.


Ko‘olau was designed by renowned architects Dick Nugent and Jack Tuthill. The 7,310 yard, par 72 layout features cascading waterfalls, winding ravines and an abundance of lush native vegetation. The greens are Seashore Paspalum turf grass which offers a world-class quality putting surface all year round. Even though the course is considered extremely challenging, with four sets of tees Ko‘olau promises an enjoyable experience for golfers of any skill level.


The course’s Aloha Academy of Golf offers a variety of programs for juniors, women and families. The teaching and practice facilities feature state-of-the-art video and computer equipment, grass practice tees and manicured chipping/putting practice greens. Private, semi- private and group lessons are offered for locals and visitors of all skill levels by PGA and LPGA instructors. Global Positioning Satellite systems are installed on all golf carts and club rental and fitting is available.


Ko‘olau has three varieties of memberships with privileges including personal lockers and golf bag storage; use of men’s and women’s locker rooms featuring a Sauna and Euro Bath; use of the game room featuring a billiards table, television and other gaming tables; preferred tee times, and participation in monthly golf tournaments and other exclusive events.

Honey’s was named after Honey Ho, a kupuna from Kaneohe whose Honey’s restaurant was popular with locals, tourists and the military for more than 39 years and was the birthplace of Honey’s son, Don Ho. The restaurant offers Continental and Pacific-Asian cuisine, a warm Hawaiian atmosphere and Sunday Brunch.
