The Rim Golf Club

Celebrating High Country Living in the Heart of Arizona’s Mogollon Rim Country...

“I personally feel that holes 7 through 18 at The Rim Golf Club are the finest consecutive holes that Jay and I have ever designed.” -Tom Weiskopf

Nestled among the largest contiguous stand of Ponderosa pine in North America, The Rim Golf Club resides in a truly unique setting rich with the natural beauty of Arizona’s Mogollon Rim country. Created for those who not only hold nature in high regard but who want to participate in its splendor, The Rim Golf Club is Arizona’s ultimate residential mountain golf community. Serene, picturesque and recognized for excellence in design, the Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish designed course has quickly risen to its destined place among the country’s finest with a recent ranking in the Top 20 U.S. Golf Courses by Golfweek, the highest ranking of any Arizona golf course.

Payson, Arizona’s mild temperatures year-round keeps The Rim Golf Club course open for play in all seasons. And with a membership that is restricted to just 295 equity members, there’s peace and solitude on most days.
The Rim Club is well situated for a primary residence or a family retreat. The easy drive north from Phoenix along Highway 87 winds through some of the most picturesque scenery found anywhere in Arizona. At just over an hour from the metro-politan area, The Rim Golf Club is close enough for convenience, yet far enough to be a world of its own.

A temperate climate at an elevation of 5,000 feet gives The Rim Golf Club the best of each season: idyllic spring days with 60-70 degree temperatures; summer with nighttime lows some twenty-five degrees cooler than those of the desert regions below the Rim; a fall with just a hint of briskness and splashes of showy color, and winters with occasional dustings of snow.

Pine-covered mountains, clear lakes and streams, and forest trails provide endless recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to hike, camp, horseback ride, hunt, fish, bird-watch, boat, water ski, swim or just relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Tonto National Forest, the second largest in the United States. With more than 580,000 acres of riparian habitat– biotic communities along banks of streams, rivers and lakes– the forest’s diversity supports an abundance of flora and fauna. In these regions, explorers can experience the virgin forest in all its grandeur, and in solitude.

The Rim Golf Club’s Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish designed golf course, one of their last collaborations, takes every advantage of the landscape to deliver a challenging and awe-inspiring round of golf. The club’s limited membership allows members to enjoy the game in its purest form. There are no assigned tee times and the practice facilities are said to be the finest Tom and Jay have ever created.

Carved from the Ponderosa pine and junipers, fairways stretch to 400 feet wide. The soft rolls of the fairway transition effortlessly into the surrounding forest. Expansive views framed by the Stewart Mountains from the south and the seemingly endless stretch of the Mogollon Rim to the north, the sparkle of clear blue lakes, oversized greens make a round at The Rim Golf Club a visual pleasure.
To preserve the pristine forest setting, fifty percent of the land area of The Rim Golf Club is to remain in its natural state. Homesites are carefully located to capture the natural forest setting and to preserve the environment.

Estate homesites, averaging 1.2 acres each, are situated on hillsides above tree-lined fairways to capture views of the course and surrounding mountains while half-acre Golf Club homesites are nestled in the shade of towering pines.

The Rim Golf Club is part of the Crescent Resources, L.L.C. real estate development group. Formed more than 30 years ago by Duke Energy, the company has land interests in eight states in the Southeast and Southwest.

The unique setting of The Rim Golf Club is still attainable.
